Profile

Fascinated by music, at 14 years old I began taking singing lessons and understood that voice was my instrument of preference.

I obtained my DEC in Popular Music from Lionel-Groulx College and completed a bachelor degree in Jazz Performance at Concordia University. I worked as a lead/backup singer for Louphi, Les Prostiputes, Tara Lee Combs, North East Bistro, Eric Boudreault and more recently with Misstress Barbara and Plastik Patrik.

It's with great passion that I assist groups and artists in their artistic journey with voice technique lessons, assistance in recording studio or as vocal coach for Richmond's Festirock for the past three years.

"I took a lot of voice lessons in the past with different voice teachers but I was acquiring a few bad habits and I had a pitch problem. Searching to fix theses flaws, I found Caroline Giguere's website. From the first lesson I became a believer in her methodology. She knew exactly my problem and with concrete explanations, patience and passion it quickly translated into confidence and results. She knows how to make a student at ease. I very quickly relied on her professional guidance. From now on, I feel more confident when I record in a studio or for a stage performance. When I'm in doubt, Caroline helps me to find a solution quickly. I recommend everyone to try her methods because I am convinced she will be able to put you back on your feet. Caroline is a voice psychologist, put your trust in her and you will be cured."

Friz-Edwin Jocelyn (Singer and song writer for Doody & Kami's duo and currently working professionaly with our teacher on our upcoming album for 2013)

"Being a starting or career artist, Caroline will show you the different subtleties of the voice, from the basic to more advance exercises. Always smiling and passionate, she will share her wide knowledge to help you develop the maximum out of your vocal range! Regardless if you are a hardcore band lead singer or classical chorister, Caroline is the number one choice to improve your vocal technique."

Yzra (Singer and song writter)

"Caroline's force is her knowledge of all musical styles and she can adapt her many exercises to what I really want to sing. I feel I progressed a lot more with her than any other teacher before and I am really encouraged to continue. Furthermore, she always teaches new exercises so I never get bored."

Plastik Patrik (Lead singer of Patrik et les Brutes, album Toutes les Filles Sont Folles de Moi 2009, DJ and MC of special events.)

"I had the great pleasure and privilege to study with Caroline Giguere. I already took voice lessons and voice training before and I wanted to test my register, widen my vocal scope and train in a different style for me at that time. I had very particular requirements to which she easily answered. I sang and trained my voice for more than 10 years but I never learned and progressed more than with the lessons I took with her. I appreciate her excellent knowledge and mastery of the vocal, phonating and respiratory system, her rigor (i.e.: the work is followed up upon, and the exercises are recorded) her creativity (she searches and invent new exercises), her flexibility (she modifies an exercise when a problem surge or when a question is asked). I also salute her inexhaustible energy and formidable demand. I often met voice teachers that favor a certain technique, style or register and it's not her case. This last quality and the others mentioned before constitute in my opinion, a rare and remarkable voice teacher that is Caroline."

Delphine Bouhy (Lead and backup singer for The Blue Monkey Project)

"Caroline Giguere is a dynamic, energetic and willful teacher. Her enthusiasm is contagious and it's with joy that we go to her class. Curious by nature, she is always searching for new techniques to better answer the different needs of her students, her teaching methods is then in constant evolution. The most important is that she offers a personalized service in a informal ambiance, learning to sing becomes then a surprising vocal exploration. By introspect, listening, training and of course with pleasure, everyone will find their voice. The force is grand within her…"

Jean-François Beaupré (Actor, voice doubling and singer album coming in 2013)

"Voice lessons with Caroline are not only to develop voice techniques, but also lessons in music, interpretation philosophy, posture and more. Caroline's vast experience allows her to understand the essence of a musical interpretation regardless of style and genre. Together, we worked pieces by Fred Pellerin, John Mayer, Richard Desjardins and some of my own compositions to add to my repertoire. In conclusion, I would say that Caroline's teachings posses a trait of the great masters i.e.: abstracting from her own personal esthetic choices she recognize the strengths or her students and she helps to develop themselves with their own tastes and aspirations…"

Sylvain Picard (Composer, arranger and guitarist of the band Fleur de Lys "album Le Retour au Sources 2006" and of the Sylvain Picard Trio "album Airs à Faire Frire 2010")

"In a very short time, Caroline allowed me to acquire a resonance and a volume range that I never thought I was physically capable of. Amongst her scope of exercises, for some truly unique, there are those to correct bad habits and others to develop precise aspect of the voice. On top of voice exercises; Caroline prepared me for studio and for live performances. Like a personal coach, she knows how to guide me to get the right emotion and maximize the rendering of each music piece."

Marc Laframboise (Composer, drummer, guitarist and sound creator "album in preparation for 2014")
